I live near Carver so I walk there frequently. It generally is very peaceful and enjoyable, however this evening around 630 I had a scary incident. I was walking by the garden entrance as an elderly gentleman was unlocking the garden gate. He had a large red dog that came at me barking and charging like it was going to attack me. I jumped off the sidewalk and took several steps and the dog then stopped. I'm 71 and I could have been hurt trying to get away from the dog. Even though the dog had a leash the man was not holding on to it. He said the dog was only protecting him. I get that, but he should keep the dog under control. If he can't control it he should not have it in public. Thank God I am safe but it was very scary. .

I’ve visited Carver Park Recreation Center multiple times and consistently had a frustrating experience at the front desk. The older female staff member who is usually there comes across as unwelcoming. She rarely greets visitors, just stares without speaking, and doesn’t provide helpful information when asked. On several occasions, I was told the open gym wasn’t available without any explanation or clear schedule provided. It makes it difficult to know when amenities are actually accessible. A recreation center should feel welcoming and community-focused, but unfortunately that hasn’t been my experience here.

Visiting the area, with our plans to go to Johnson City skating rink but the hours on TripAdvisor are not correct so we found this lovely park nearby to bring the grandchildren to have fun on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. They are swinging and playing on the jungle gym here, it’s kind of sad there’s not anybody else here it’s such a beautiful place.

Had a great day at a BIRTHDAY party here. Lots to check out and play outside and stuff. They have a playground, a splash pad area for the whole family. They have shady areas with tables and seats. Also pavilion areas where we had food and presents. Looks like that area has made a lot of improvements recently. Even a place for gardening for nearby apartments. They have built new apartments in recent years and they've kept property up.
